this is the great wall of china. The Great Wall of China stretches more than 6,400 kilometers, or nearly 4,000 miles through northern China. China's first emperor, Qin Shi Huang, began constructing the wall in the 3rd century BC to protect the northern borders of his empire.

the Great Wall has been eroded, built, rebuilt and extended many times.Construction of the Great Wall began in the 7th Century BC when China was controlled by feudal warlords. It was joined together (along with China) in the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC). Added to and rebuilt until the 16th Century, the Great Wall's purpose was to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire from invaders

all about CHINA

here is china
china has loads of history here a few historical facts >>>>>>

Between the beginning of the second millennium B.C. and 221 B.C. three dynasties ruled the area around the Yellow River Basin, one after another.
The Xia are believed to be the earliest of these dynasties. However, so far no written evidence has been found that tells us about the Xia. From about 1500 to 1050 B.C. the people known as the Shang came to rule the area. In 1050 B.C. the Zhou, western neighbours of the Shang, rose against the Shang and defeated them in battle. In 771 B.C. the Zhou king was killed by an alliance of enemy tribesmen and a few Zhou representatives. The Zhou were finally deposed in 256 B.C.
For the next forty years China was locked in constant warfare. Small states fought each other to gain power. In 221 B.C., Qin Shi Huangdi became the victor of these wars. He united all the warring states into an empire. China remained a centralized empire until 1912, the longest surviving empire ever.

the Amazon rainforest.

The first layer in the rainforest is called the Emergent Layer, emergents are the tallest trees in the rainforest and grows as high as 200 feet it is the highist layer. !!

The second layer is called canopy layer it is the primary layer of the forest and forms a roof over the two remaining layers. !!

the next layer is called the understory layer it gets little sunshine and reaches small areas so the plants have to grow larger leaves to reach the sunlight. !!

then its the shrub layer, The shrub layer is composed mostly of woody, perennial shrubs less than ten feet in height. !!

the smallest layer and the last layer is called forestfloor, The air near the forest floor is hot and humid only two percent of the light that reaches the canopy can get through to the forest floor. !!
